The latest news on our G.fast and
SOGEA developments

Improving connectivity speeds

We’ve been working hard on rolling out our G.fast solutions and developing our Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SOGEA) product, so we wanted to share with you the latest news.

G.fast

We’ve been rolling out the plan for further G.fast exchanges – something which will underpin the backbone of the product to sit alongside our FTTC portfolio. Each month, new exchanges will be coming online, with the target to reach 1.1 million premises by the end of March 2018 and a further 10 million by 2020, offer access to 160Mbps and 330Mbps speeds. SOGEA

Our Wholesale Broadband Connect (WBC) SOGEA is a new broadband end user access option in our WBC and Wholesale Broadband Managed Connect (WBMC) portfolio. As a broadband only connection it’s suited to your end users that don’t use fixed line voice or rely on VOIP services carried on the broadband link. SOGEA will use the same network infrastructure as existing WBC FTTC services and will be available at the same data rates upon launch.

Benefits for you

  • unsurpassed reach and high availability network
  • Real Time Quality of service capability, which is being improved and relaunched, allows you to prioritise certain traffic within the network
  • existing end users can be migrated from any existing voice or broadband service
  • supported by our knowledge based diagnostics tool

SOGEA is available for trials while we still develop it further, with an official product launch coming after completion. If you want the opportunity to trial it, please get in touch with Alan Cameron.
