We’re announcing some exciting improvements to our ethernet services

Ethernet news update

How have we been improving our ethernet services? Read on to find out.

Our pricing tool revamp

Our ethernet pricing tool is great, but we want it to be even better. So we’ve given it a makeover. It’s now more intuitive, easier to use and you can use it to generate quotes for Fibre to the Premises (FTTP). See our user guide for more information – don’t forget to log in to see it.

As we already have the FTTP infrastructure in place, it means you can get your customer’s connectivity up and running in no time. Now with availability in eight cities (Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, London and Manchester) you can place your orders with ease and leave your customers pleased. If you’re not already offering your customers FTTP, now could be the time to start.

A glimpse into what our refreshed pricing tool looks like.

GEA ordering goes GREAT

When placing orders for Generic Ethernet Access-FTTC (GEA-FTTC), it used to be a two-pronged approach. That meant one order for ethernet and another for the PSTN line. In our quest to improve our customer’s experience, we’re making this simpler. Soon, you’ll be able to place a Single Order Generic Ethernet Access (SOGEA) request, meaning it can be done in just one order. It’s simple, saves time and it saves money. We’ve been trialling SOGEA with some customers to make sure it delivers what it says. If you haven’t already and want to get in on the action, get in touch with your account manager.

The same great service for EFM

When ordering etherflow and etherway for our Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) product, there used to be a discrepancy between the increments of each. Now they both offer the same increments of service. Next time you order an etherflow to match your bandwidth on etherway, that’s what you’ll get.

Special pricing offer

  • Six month EFM offer. Etherflow rental will be fixed at £750 per year and etherway pricing reduced by up to 30% on three year term contracts and six per cent on a one year term contracts. This offer runs from 16 July 2018 until 15 January 2019.
  • Don’t forget, our ‘three pairs for the price of two’ and ‘five pairs for four’ still applies. For example, for up to three pairs at around 10Mb, the new rental would be £1,125 per year. Up to five pairs at around 20Mb, the new rental would be £1,350 per year (bandwidths quoted above are indicative).
  • New fixed rate for GEA. The flat rate etherflow price of £800 per year will still apply, including free connection. Free connection is only available on three and five year term orders but it’ll give you an immediate saving of £350. This will deliver greater bandwidth and commercial flexibility, allowing you to support asymmetric bandwidth profile of FTTC access.
